Dean Qiongxiu of China, 66, discovered a snake slithering up her wall in the middle of the night outside her bedroom window. When she took a closer look at it, she noticed it was climbing up the wall with a talon like foot.
“I woke up and heard a strange scratching sound. I turned on the light and saw this monster working its way along the wall using his claw,” said Mrs Duan of Suining, southwest China.
Mrs Duan said that she got so scared and beat the reptile to death. Later she took the snake and put it in a bottle of alcohol to preserve the body.
The snake is about 16 inches long and said to a as thick as a finger. It is know being studied at the Life Sciences Department at China’s West Normal University in Nanchang.
Snake expert Long Shuai said, “It is truly shocking but we won’t know the cause until we’ve conducted an autopsy.”
Mutations are common in snakes, but they usually have two heads. These animals usually have little chance surviving in the wild, so they are caught and kept as lucky charms. The strange thing is that these heads usually attack each other.
